5. Commonwealth Games gold medal
Neeraj Chopra made history at the Commonwealth Games, where he became the first Indian javelin thrower to win a gold medal at the event. He threw 86.47m in his fourth attempt.

However, it was enough to beat Australia’s Hamish Peacock (82.59m) and Grenada’s Anderson Peters (82.20m). He also became only the fourth Indian track and field athlete to win a Commonwealth Games gold medal after Milkha Singh (1958), Krishna Poonia (2010) and Vikas Gowda (2014).

4. Asian Games gold medal and Asian record
Neeraj Chopra added another feather to his cap at the Asian Games 2018, where he won the gold medal in men’s javelin throw with a superb throw of 88.06m. He dominated the field by a huge margin of over nine meters, smashing his national record and establishing a new Asian record. 3. World U20 Championships gold medal and world record
Neeraj Chopra announced his arrival on the global stage with a sensational performance at the World U20 Championships in 2016. He won the gold medal in men’s javelin throw with a massive throw of 86.48m, which also set a new world record for the under-20 category.
However, he broke the previous record of 84.69m held by Latvia’s Zigismunds Sirmais. Also, Neeraj became the first Indian track and field athlete to win a world championship, and also the first Indian to set a world record.

2. World Athletics Championships silver medal
Neeraj Chopra continued his impressive form at the World Athletics Championships 2022, where he bagged the silver medal in the men’s javelin throw. He qualified for the final with an 88.39m throw and then improved it to 88.13m in the medal round.
However, he was only beaten by defending world champion Anderson Peters of Grenada, who threw 90.54m.
