5. Alex Rodriguez
Despite everyone’s expectation that he would lead the Rangers to the postseason, Alex Rodriguez never lived up to the absurd contract that Tom Hicks offered him. Nevertheless, Rodriguez had three of his greatest years with Texas, where he was the 2003 AL MVP and won two Gold Gloves at shortstop. In only three seasons, he blasted 156 home runs and participated in three All-Star games.
Out of his three seasons with the Rangers, 2003 was the greatest. He won the American League MVP award and finished with 47 home runs and 118 RBIs. 4. Michael Young
For ten years, Young has led the Rangers, but the team was unable to make the playoffs until more elements were added to the mix. That doesn’t change the fact that, over his 11 complete MLB seasons, Young has batted at least seven times, all with Texas. He also went through a phase where he and Ichiro Suzuki competed every season for first place in the AL in hits.

3. Rafael Palmeiro
Rafael Palmeiro is ranked third on the list of the greatest Rangers performers of all time. Despite it being discovered that he had taken steroids, Palmeiro, a powerful first baseman and dedicated hitter for the Rangers, remains one of the greatest Rangers players in history. In terms of team history, Palmeiro is second with 321 home runs and fourth with 1,692 hits.

2. Nolan Ryan
Ryan placed the Rangers on the map during his five seasons on the mound for Texas, but his time in the front office has proven to be even more beneficial. Ryan continued to produce as few Rangers pitchers have, even at 42 years old. He struck out almost 1,000 batters, had two no-hitters, and one fantastic punch-out of Robin Ventura.
Remarkably, he was still selected for the All-Star squad that year, making 1989 his seventh participation on the roster. Ryan’s five-year waiting period between resignation and induction ended in 1999 when he was admitted into the Cooperstown Hall of Fame. From 2008 to 2011, he also held a brief position as CEO of the Texas Rangers.

1. Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez
Pudge won out in the end because of his twelve years of service with Texas. Rodriguez had some offensive work ahead of him when he joined the baseball team in 1991 as a defensive catcher. Pudge must have improved on it over the following several years, because starting in 1995, he batted over 300 for eight straight seasons.
He won 13 Gold Glove honors, including 10 consecutive with the Rangers from 1992 to 2001. Rodriguez earned the 1999 MVP and has won the Silver Slugger hitting title seven times. For MLB teams, an exceptional catcher is rare, but Ivan Rodriguez is still among the finest to play the position.
