Giacomo Agostini, an Italian road racer, is a multi-time world champion. He is known as Ago. Agostini has an impressive record of 122 Grand Prix wins and 15 world championships. Agostini was born in Brescia, Lombardy. He experienced a difficult childhood because he had to run away for his racing career.

He starts in hill climb races and, later, in road racing. Giacomo Agostini took his first World Championship in 1963, in the 175cc class on a Morini. He resigned from the team to join Benelli, and Count Alfonso Morini then recruited him.

He was again the champion in the 350cc class in 1964. His achievements caught the attention of Dominico Agusto, who signed him as Michael Hailwood’s partner. He was close to winning the title in 1965. But his bike stopped working, and the title was awarded to Jim Redman.
