The 21st season of the T20 Blast, the oldest national Twenty20 competition in the world, will begin on May 20 with the usual 18 county-based teams. Derbyshire, Durham, Lancashire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, and Yorkshire are individuals from the North Gathering. The South Gathering comprises of Essex, Glamorgan, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Kent, Middlesex, Somerset, Surrey, and Sussex.
The nine teams in each group will play 14 league games, seven at home and seven on the road, from May 20 to July 2. The two semi-finals, which will take place on July 15 at Edgbaston, will be between the top four teams. The final will follow.
