After placing fourth in the men’s 10m air pistol event at the Asian Shooting Games in Changwon, South Korea, shooter Johnathan Wong earned a spot in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Jonathan earned a spot in the 10m pistol final with an overall score of 582 points. He is in seventh position out of 48 shooters. Johnathan scored in fourth place in the final on Tuesday (October 24) with a score of 201.1. The shooter from Malaysia also won the first of the two Olympic spots that were available, defeating Kim Jong Su of the Democratic Republic of Korea and Atallah Alanazi of Saudi Arabia, who won a silver medal and a quota spot.

He is a Sports shooter from Malaysia. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, he took part in the men’s 10-meter air pistol competition. He also took part in the 2017 Southeast Asian Games. Moreover, he took first place in the 50-meter pistol competition and second place in the 10-meter air pistol competition. Johnathan came in fourth place in the championship match on Tuesday (October 24) with a score of 201.1.
Because China had already reserved its two spots for the men’s 10m air pistol, Johnathan and Sarabjot were able to claim the two merits Olympic quota spots allotted at the Asian Championships. Johnathan’s Olympic qualification has been welcomed by the National Shooting Association of Malaysia. Jonathan participated in the Rio Olympics in 2016 but was unable to earn a spot in the Tokyo Games in 2021.
