The player retention lists for the Women’s Premier League 2024 were made public by the BCCI on Thursday. Indian Board has released the team of every squad. Thirty-nine players were cut, leaving sixty players on the roster. The team with the greatest amount of players released from their list is Gujarat Giants. The 2023 squad of the Delhi Capitals, the runners-up, dismissed three players, whilst the reigning champion Mumbai Indians cut four players from its squad. Moreover, Giants will have the biggest purse of Rs. 5.95 crores in the mini-auction which will take place in December. Women Premier League WPL 2024 Team Squads
The BCCI revealed on Thursday (October 19) that just 29 out of 89 players were retained by the five teams collectively for the second season. There are a total of 5 squads in the WPL 2023. Also, The Gujarat Giants are the team that has released the most players. However, they are eager to make significant modifications for the second Women’s Premier League season.
The teams have been visiting several domestic events, including youth ones, to scout talent. Furthermore, the WPL will begin in the middle of February. They may also add new players to the team but there is not much information.
