Yashasvi Jaiswal Earns ICC Player of the Month Nomination Following Exceptional Performances

Because of his fantastic performances against England, India’s budding cricket prodigy, Yashasvi Jaiswal, has been nominated for the ICC Player of the Month award for February 2024. The nominees were revealed on March 4, and he is competing against Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka and New Zealand’s Kane Williamson.

In February, Jaiswal gained notoriety for his pivotal role in India’s triumphs in Rajkot and Vizag. With scores of 209 and 214, he amassed a stunning double-century in both games, aiding India in their victories.

With a record-breaking 12 sixes in an inning during his performance in Rajkot, he became the first Indian player to hit successive double hundreds, behind only Vinod Kambli and Virat Kohli. Jaiswal hopes to surpass 700 runs in the next Dharamshala Test. He also tied Kohli’s record for most runs in a series against England.

Jaiswal hit twenty-six and averaged 112 runs in February, totaling 560 runs. Nissanka and Williamson, his rivals, also had prosperous February campaigns. With 403 runs, Williamson contributed significantly to New Zealand’s series victory against South Africa, and Nissanka, who was in excellent form, achieved Sri Lanka’s maiden double-century in an ODI series against Afghanistan.
