Williamson Recalls ‘Surreal’ Debut Amidst Legends Tendulkar and Dravid in 2010

Christchurch, March 6 (PTI) – New Zealand’s famous batsman Kane Williamson thought back to his memorable debut against India in 2010, where he played with cricket stars like Sachin Tendulkar. Williamson is getting close to playing his 100th Test match, which will be a big deal. Coming up against the cricket players Williamson looked up to as a child and scoring 131 runs in his first Test game was “surreal,” he said. In the next series against Australia, he will play his hundredth Test match.

Williamson said of his start, “Seeing Tendulkar, Laxman, and Dravid on the field was overwhelming.” It was like playing with the heroes from when I used to play cricket in my garden. This event was very important in Williamson’s career because it made him want to learn more about the sport and get better at it.

Williamson’s journey has been full of learning and growth over the past 10 years and 99 Tests. He has scored 8675 runs at an average of 55.25, with 32 centuries.
