Despite high hopes for an upgrade following a strong performance, Kuldeep was only elevated to Grade B from his previous Grade C status in the latest BCCI contracts for the 2023-24 season.

During the 2023 World Cup hosted by India, Kuldeep emerged as a key player, taking 15 wickets across 11 games with an outstanding economy rate of 4.45. Moreover, in the same year, he proved his mettle in the T20I format, securing 14 wickets in nine matches, underscoring his versatility and skill.

In a conversation with IANS, Kapil Dev Pandey praised Kuldeep’s abilities, stating, “Kuldeep stands as one of the premier bowlers globally at this juncture. He undoubtedly deserved a promotion to Grade A, given his consistent performances. Nonetheless, I am optimistic about his future achievements and believe he will secure his rightful spot soon.”

He further encouraged Kuldeep, “In our recent discussions, I advised him to maintain his positive attitude. It’s important for him to overlook external factors and concentrate solely on his game.” This advice comes amidst Kuldeep’s efforts to navigate the challenges and expectations that come with international cricket, highlighting the spinner’s commitment and resilience.
