Bairstow’s path has not been easy, particularly following a broken leg sustained in a golfing accident. Since the event, which occurred in 2012 when he made his debut, he has battled to regain his form.

He has failed to make a century in his previous ten Test matches and has only hit a top score of 38 against India in the current series. Reflecting on the aspiration of many young cricket players to play 100 Tests, Bairstow maintains his optimism.
