BAN vs SL 2nd T20I News: Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka by eight wickets on Wednesday to square the three-match T20 international series. It was an amazing turn of events. With an incredible effort that included four fours and two sixes in an undefeated 53 off 38 balls, captain Najmul Hossain Shanto guided his team to victory. In the series, this was his fourth fifty.

Shanto’s six-off Sri Lankan bowler, Dasun Shanaka, cemented the victory as Bangladesh easily defeated Sri Lanka’s score of 165-5, reaching 170-2. Towhid Hridoy scored 32 runs off of 25 balls, which helped the team win.

After Bangladesh lost the first game by a close margin, they promptly won the second one thanks to an unbroken partnership of 87 runs between Hridoy and Shanto at the third wicket. Friday is the scheduled day for the pivotal third game.

Shanto commended his team’s fortitude and bowling performance in difficult circumstances. Bangladesh made a strong start to the game with openers Liton Das and Soumya Sarkar scoring 68 runs between them. Though Hridoy and Shanto’s consistent play preserved the victory, Matheesha Pathirana of Sri Lanka was able to break their alliance.

The discipline of Bangladesh’s bowlers made things difficult for Sri Lanka from the outset. Kusal and Kamindu Mendis, two batters from Sri Lanka, tried to rally the team with a 66-run partnership despite a sluggish start. Bangladesh, however, recovered control by capturing significant wickets at pivotal times.

Charith Asalanka, Sri Lanka’s acting captain, acknowledged that his team’s total fell short by 20–25 runs, but he cited Kamindu Mendis’s dismissal as the game’s pivotal moment. He underlined that in difficult circumstances for bowlers, batsmen must score more runs.

There will be an interesting decider in the final game as the series is now tied.
